EDINBURGH, Scotland -- Like tartan, bagpipes, and shortbread Scotland's Loch Ness Monster is as much an emblem as a tourist draw.

And now Nessie's back.

An amateur scientist has captured what Loch Ness Monster watchers say is among the finest footage ever taken of the elusive mythical creature reputed to swim beneath the waters of Scotland's most mysterious lake.

"I couldn't believe my eyes when I saw this jet black thing, about 45-feet (15 meters) long, moving fairly fast in the water," said Gordon Holmes, the 55-year-old a lab technician from Shipley, Yorkshire, who took the video this past Saturday.

He said it moved at about 6 mph (10 kph) and kept a fairly straight course.

"My initial thought is it could be a very big eel, they have serpent-like features and they may explain all the sightings in Loch Ness over the years."

Loch Ness is surrounded by myth and mystery, as it is the largest and deepest inland expanse of water in Britain. About 750 feet (230 meters) to the bottom, it's even deeper than the North Sea.

Nessie watcher and marine biologist Adrian Shine of the Loch Ness 2000 center in Drumnadrochit, on the shores of the lake, viewed the video and hopes to properly analyze it in the coming months.

"I see myself as a skeptical interpreter of what happens in the loch, but I do keep an open mind about these things and there is no doubt this is some of the best footage I have seen," Shine said.

He said the video is particularly useful because Holmes panned back to get the background shore into the shot. That means it was less likely to be a fake and provided geographical bearings allowing one to calculate how big the creature was and how fast it was traveling.

Soon sports bettors will have something new to bet on in the form of the United Football League. Though the NFL has quashed four other attempts to compete with it, this time things may be different.

The New York Times Sports Magazine reports in its June 3 issue that Wall Streeter Bill Hambrecht and Google executive Tim Armstrong are launching the United Football League, which has already secured Los Angeles, Las Vegas and Mexico City (to give it that international flair). Orlando and San Antonio are two other cities being considered that do not currently have an NFL team. The UFL hopes to start off with eight teams.

Hambrecht and Armstrong will be in good company. Mark Cuban has been lined up as their first team owner and they are looking for seven more.

ÒThere are quite a few good-sized non-N.F.L. cities that can support a pro team," insists Cuban.

Bra-llelujah! fails to live up to hopes

I had high hopes when I discovered that Spanx, the company famous for its tummy-tucking, line-concealing pantyhose, had added a bra to its lineup.

The all-nylon garment promises to reduce bra bulges, eliminate strap-digging and boost boobs without an underwire, thus making it a metal-free and, as the packaging claims, "airport friendly" bra.


Unfortunately, the so-called Bra-llelujah! gave me no reason to rejoice. The straps on the pullover bra are roughly an inch wide Ñ ugly, but I might have forgiven that if they'd proved functional. Alas, the bra was neither shapely nor supportive (the stretchy fabric did little to mitigate the bounce factor). Though it didn't quite flatten my bust, it gave me none of the lift I normally look for. And while it created a "smooth, sexy back," as promised, the trade-off wasn't worth it: Under a clingy T-shirt, lines showed through across my chest, thanks to multiple seams across the cups. So, as bras go, Bra-llelujah! is, well, a total bust.

MEXICO CITY Ð First, Miss USA Rachel Smith slipped and fell on her bottom during the Miss Universe evening gown competition Monday. Then she was booed by hundreds in the Mexican audience.

The treatment of the Tennessee beauty queen was nothing personal. It had more to do with Mexico's sometimes tense relationship with its northern neighbor.

U.S. athletes have sparked a similar response. Mexican crowds booed the U.S. national anthem, and some chanted "Osama! Osama!" during soccer games against the U.S. in 2004 and 2005.

Ms. Smith was booed repeatedly during her stay in Mexico, including when she carried a guitar and wore an Elvis-style suit during a parade of national costumes in downtown Mexico City.

She kept her poise during an interview Monday night with pageant judges, despite the boos and chants of "Mexico! Mexico!"

"I am very passionate about education, and being in South Africa sparked my interest in that," said Ms. Smith, a journalism graduate who volunteered for a month at talk show host Oprah Winfrey's Leadership Academy for Girls in South Africa.

Then she paused, smiled and spoke in Spanish. "Buenas noches, Mexico. Muchas gracias!" which earned her some applause and some chuckles.

Miss Japan Riyo Mori, who won the crown, opened her interview with "Hola, Mexico!" to cheers and claps.

Ich wurde am 27.09.1979 in Bassum geboren. Bassum liegt in der NŠhe von Bremen. Ich wuchs als Einzelkind auf, habe aber trotzdem nicht alles bekommen, was ich wollte und habe frŸh angefangen, fŸr meine Extras zu jobben.
Ich habe in Bremen Abitur gemacht und angefangen zu studieren. Leider habe ich erst nach 2 Jahren gemerkt, dass Jura so gar nichts fŸr mich ist und ich mehr Praxis brauche. Darum habe ich mit der Ausbildung zum Diplom Fitness …konom begonnen und darin meine Berufung gefunden. Es macht mir Spa§, mit Leuten zu arbeiten und ihnen zu helfen, wieder fit zu werden. Ich hoffe, dass mein Leben weiterhin so gut verlŠuft, denn bisher kann ich mich wirklich nicht beklagen. Meine Kindheit war toll und auch in der Schule lief es immer gut.

¥ Mein Shooting

Das Playboy Shooting war eine ganz tolle Erfahrung fŸr mich. Ich war vorher Ÿberhaupt nicht aufgeregt und habe mich tierisch auf das Shooting gefreut. Ich habe gedacht: Wow! Der Playboy will dich, Dani! Was fŸr eine Ehre.
Schon am Flughafen MŸnchen wurde ich sehr nett empfangen und so nett sollte es auch weiter gehen. Nachdem mich die Visagistin ãbearbeitetÒ hatte, konnte ich mich im Spiegel kaum wieder erkennen. Sie hatte aus mir eine wahnsinnig sexy Frau gemacht. Ich fŸhlte mich mit dem Make Up und den Haaren sofort wohl. Auch das folgende Fotoshooting war super. Ein absolut professionelles Team aus knapp zehn Leuten, die alle um mich herumtŸdelten. Es macht mir gar nichts aus, zum Teil splitternackt zwischen ihnen herum zu laufen. Das einzig unangenehme waren die Temperaturen in der Waschstra§e. Ich habe brutal gefroren, aber ich glaube, da ist es anderen Playmates schon kŠlter ergangen. Alles in allem hat es mir sehr viel Spa§ gemacht. Vielen Dank dafŸr!

¥ Mein Traummann

Mal ganz ehrlich Ð zuerst geht man nach der Optik, darum fange ich damit an. Mein Traummann sollte grš§er sein als ich (bei 1,68m wohl kein Problem). Er sollte sportlich sein und eine nette Ausstrahlung haben. Haarfarbe und Augenfarbe sind mir egal, denn daran kann man nicht festmachen, ob mir der Typ gefŠllt. Auch sportlich rasierte Glatzen finde ich sehr attraktiv.
Nun zu den Eigenschaften: mein Traummann sollte sich gut benehmen kšnnen und auf jeden Fall tierlieb sein. NatŸrlich sollte er auch ehrlich sein, denn das ist das wichtigste fŸr mich in einer Beziehung. Selbst wenn ich der Meinung bin, dass MŠnner nicht ewig treu sein kšnnen, sollten sie wenigstens ehrlich sein. Mein Traummann sollte gleiche Interessen wie ich haben und keine faule Socke sein. Ganz wichtig ist, dass er selbstbewusst und ehrgeizig in den Sachen ist, die er erreichen will.

Japan Nude dancer wins Miss Universe

Japan's first Miss Universe victory in nearly 50 years has brought a welcome note of light relief to the country on Tuesday, amid a raft of grim domestic news.

Television stations showed Riyo Mori being crowned winner of the contest in Mexico, beating other finalists from countries such as Brazil and Venezuela.

The 20-year-old dancer is from Shizuoka prefecture, south of Tokyo.

Ms Mori has become only the second Japanese woman to take the top prize at Miss Universe.

Last year Kurara Chibana, another Japanese contestant, came second in the pageant.

The win came after months of preparation by Ms Mori, who said in a recent interview with Metropolis magazine in Tokyo that she had been to France to learn the right mannerisms and interview skills.

A spokeswoman for Shizuoka town hall says employees there are thrilled and are considering how best to celebrate Mori's return home.

Based on her height and weight as published in her centerfold data sheet, Scott's body mass index of 21.3 is the highest of any Playmate since Playboy began publishing Playmate data sheets in July 1977, although according to data in Playboy's Playmate directory [1], Rosemarie Hillcrest Miss October 1964, had a body mass index of 23.4.

Scott is, of course, atypical. In the 1990s, the typical Playmate body mass index is 18. According to a study published in British Medical Journal, body mass indexes of Playmates have been declining, over the past 50 years. However, the weight of the models has remained fairly stable; their height increased.

In the 1950s, the most attractive female body mass index was considered to be about 20, and the centerfolds reflected this. The optimum waist to hip ratio was believed to be slightly lower than 0.7. Over time, the bust and hip size of the models decreased, while waist size increased.

These findings are at odds with claims that Playmates' body shapes are still more 'hourglass' than in previous decades and that the maximally sexually attractive female waist to hip ratio is constant.

Stacy Sanches, also known as Stacy Sanchez (born September 4, 1973 in Dallas, Texas) is an American model and actress. She was chosen as Playboy's Playmate of the Month in March, 1995 and Playboy's Playmate of the Year 1996. In June 1996, she was chosen German Playmate of the Month.

She was discovered by Ken Honey, a Playboy scout, in Hawaii, while competing in a bikini contest. Honey was unable to do a photo shoot at that time and returned to Canada. After going back to Dallas, Stacy sent Honey a photo album of hers. He was impressed and forwarded it on to Marilyn Gabrowski. She asked Stacy to fly to Los Angeles to do a test at Arny Freytag studios. The pictures were approved for the Playboy centerfold.

Stacy graduated from Lakeview Centennial High School in 1991.

Her father was Spanish.[citation needed]

Stacy is the sister of model Kim Sanches, with whom she has occasionally appeared in Playboy home videos, such as Sisters (1995) and Wet & Wild: Bottoms Up (1996).

Danelle Marie Folta (born April 19, 1969) is an American model and actress. She was selected as Playboy magazine's Playmate of the Month for April 1995, and her centerfold was photographed by Arny Freytag. Folta has appeared in several Playboy videos and special editions, working steadily for Playboy as a model for more than five years following her centerfold appearance.

Folta continued an affiliation with Playboy by founding a team of Playmates who ventured into the world of extreme adventure racing as the Playboy Xtreme Team. Folta was captain of the four-member team, "Team Playboy X-treme", that completed the 2000 Eco-Challenge in Borneo, together with Playmates Jennifer Lavoie and Kalin Olson and United States Marine Corps Captain Owen West.

Folta further pursued her adventurous nature by embarking on a career as a stunt woman, working on such features as "Snow Dogs"[1] and "All About the Benjamins[2]. Her career, however, suffered a temporary setback when she contracted Fasciitis Necroticans during the 2002 Eco-Challenge in Fiji. Due to her affliction, Folta was forced to withdraw from the competition, and thus the Playboy Xtreme Team -- also consisting of Playmates Kalin Olson and Carrie Yazel and Alaska Pacific University Professor Roman Dial, Ph.D. (Environmental Sciences) -- was not able to complete its second Eco-Challenge.

20th Century Fox has optioned Folta's life rights for a full length feature film detailing her quest to build the Playboy X-treme Team.

As of February '07, Folta resides in Los Angeles, CA with her husband, Jason Miller. She makes personal appearances at Glamourcon and other fan appreciation events.

DVD Movie Porn Star Barbie Cummings Says State Trooper Took Her Picture

LEBANON, Tenn. - The Tennessee Highway Patrol placed a state trooper on paid leave as it investigates allegations that he had sex with an adult performer during a traffic stop.

Actress Barbie Cummings said trooper James Randy Moss pulled her over for speeding on May 7 in Wilson County. She was traveling to Knoxville.

Moss found alcohol and some prescription painkillers inside of her car.

Cummings said she told Moss what she did for a living. Then the pair allegedly went to a nearby secluded area where Moss took several pictures and video of Cummings.

Cummings' account of what happened appeared on her Web site and blog. One of the trooper's co-workers reported Moss.

Cummings met with investigators and turned over the photos and video taken by Moss.

Within a news release, the Tennessee Highway Patrol confirmed that Moss was placed on paid leave pending the outcome of the investigation.

The news release also stated that the allegations included possible violations of departmental policies and possible criminal violations while on duty.

Playboy Women of Starbucks

LOS ANGELES, California Lattes aren't the only steamy things at Starbucks these days.

Much to the chagrin of Seattle-based Starbucks Corp., Playboy Magazine has issued an alert: "Calling all coffee-making cuties!" to pose nude for an upcoming issue featuring the "Women of Starbucks."

With the application process already percolating, the chain of more than 6,200 coffee shops worldwide, is anything but thrilled with the cattle call by the adult magazine to its coffee-making employees, known as baristas.

The company on Thursday offered a frosty statement: "Starbucks Coffee Company is aware that Playboy Enterprises has issued a call for entries for a 'Women of Starbucks' section in a future magazine. Starbucks is not affiliated with this project and does not endorse it. All further inquiries should be directed to the contact at Playboy, Theresa Hennessey."

Hennessey, at Playboy Enterprises Inc.'s Chicago headquarters, said the magazine was already getting several submissions for the issue. "Starbucks is such a big part of American pop culture, and Playboy is always trying to stay on top of the latest trend so it seemed like a natural fit, especially with all the beautiful women there," she said.

Hennessey said that while Playboy had not approached Starbucks beforehand, it was sensitive to copyright and trademark issues.

"However we use or title the piece, we'll be using it within the boundaries of fair use of trademark law. By saying 'Women of Starbucks,' that's using it in a descriptive manner within the boundaries of fair use," she said.

"If the girls want to submit their photos and want to do something in their off time, they should be able to do that."

The application deadline is April 1 for a publication date likely before the end of 2003.

"The photo department will sift through the applications and will narrow it down and try to see who would be the best representatives to put in a pictorial. Typically we have about 10 to 15 women for a themed pictorial in an issue," she said.

In recent years, Playboy has scored big with other corporate-themed pictorials such as "The Women of Enron," as well as 7-Eleven.
